Active roofspace ventilation is necessary to avoid condensation problems that may cause dampness to rot the roof deck and distort the roofing materials. Nuravents can be installed on new or existing roofs. InstalI Nuravents carefully, having regard to roof layout, placing them where they will not be damaged by traffic, opening doors or cleaning cradles etc.

The amount and method of ventilation is a design decision. As a guide, Nuralite recommends one vent per 20 square metres of roof area. Install at high and low points to promote air flow in roof cavity, which should have interconnecting ventilating passages. Soffit vents may be installed as a sipplemental method of roof space ventilation.

As it is vital to get this aspect of the design correct, it is best to discuss your requirements with a Nuralite technical advisor during design.

Nuravents are made of aluminum. They are simple mushroom shaped vents which can be purchased in powder coated colours to blend in with the Nuraply roof.

If you would like to avoid using roof ventalation, consider installing a Nuratherm insulated roof system instead.
