Introduction
AlphaGuard BIO is a high‑performance waterproofing system designed to revitalise ageing roofs while significantly reducing disruption for occupied buildings. Its ability to be applied over many existing membranes allows projects to proceed efficiently, extending the usable life of the roof by up to 20 years.
Once cured, AlphaGuard BIO forms a seamless, durable membrane that is easy to maintain and provides dependable long‑term protection. The system can also be used on new builds, including plant rooms, waterproofing upstands, and trafficable concrete deck areas where a robust, fully adhered waterproofing solution is required.
Considerations
Application Expertise Required: Proper installation requires trained applicators to ensure the system cures correctly and achieves the intended waterproofing performance. Incorrect application may compromise durability.
Surface Preparation Dependency: While AlphaGuard BIO can be applied over existing membranes, surfaces must be clean, dry, and primed where required. Poor preparation may reduce adhesion and longevity.
Not a Structural Repair Solution: AlphaGuard BIO restores waterproofing but does not address structural damage to the roof. Any underlying issues with the substrate must be repaired beforehand.
Weather Sensitivity During Application: Application may be limited by environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, or rain, which could affect curing and performance.
Initial Cost Consideration: Although it extends roof life and reduces disruption, the upfront cost of materials and professional application may be higher than simpler roofing repairs or patching solutions.
