Introduction

Nuratrim is a durable aluminium edge trim designed for use on the perimeter of membrane roofs. It provides a clean, wind-resistant termination for membranes like Nuraply 3PM or TPO systems, enhancing both performance and appearance.

Commonly specified on parapets, and roof perimeters, Nuratrim ensures membrane edges remain secure while allowing water to shed correctly. Its sleek profile has been used on a variety of commercial and architectural projects across New Zealand, providing a tidy finish that complements contemporary flat roof design.

Nuratrim is easy to install, mechanically fixed to the substrate and sealed in accordance with Nuralite detailing requirements. It should be specified where exposed edges require protection from wind uplift or mechanical damage. For designers seeking an attractive and secure edge solution, Nuratrim offers proven reliability and compatibility with Nuralite systems.

Considerations

  • Not a waterproofing layer: Nuratrim provides edge protection and aesthetic finish but does not replace membrane termination. The membrane must be addressed to the face and sealed independently beneath.

  • Requires solid fixing substrate: Nuratrim must be fixed to a sound structural edge (e.g. timber or concrete). Unsupported or soft substrates can lead to detachment or misalignment.

  • Wind uplift risk if under-fixed: In exposed zones, insufficient fixings may result in Nuratrim detachment. Wind zones must be considered during fixing layout design.

FAQs

Where is Nuratrim roof edge typically installed on a flat roof?
Nuratrim is installed along the periphery of flat roofs at exposed edges such as parapets. It provides a finished profile that protects the underlying membrane from wind uplift and mechanical damage while directing water away from the building façade.
Is Nuratrim roof edge compatible with Nuraply or Nuratherm systems?
Absolutely. Nuratrim is specifically designed to integrate with Nuraply and Nuratherm systems, ensuring a secure and seamless edge termination that supports both waterproofing and thermal insulation requirements.
What are the technical benefits of using Nuratrim roof edge?
Nuratrim delivers a clean, durable finish that enhances both aesthetic appeal and functional performance. It minimizes edge deterioration, improves drainage, and helps maintain the integrity of the entire roof system, contributing to long-term reliability and compliance.
