Introduction

Nuraply 3PC is a heavy-duty membrane developed for use beneath asphalt or concrete in demanding environments such as car park decks and podium slabs. At 5mm thick, it provides outstanding mechanical resistance, thermal durability, and compatibility with overlaid toppings.

This membrane has been specified for major commercial and infrastructure projects where reliable waterproofing beneath structural surfaces is essential.

Nuraply 3PC is applied using torch-on methods and must be installed by trained applicators, with proper substrate preparation and detailing. Not intended as an exposed finish, it must be overlaid with 3PM on upstands.

Its robust formulation and history of successful installations make it a dependable choice for specifiers needing waterproofing certainty beneath back with a CodeMark certification.

Considerations

  • Requires overburden protection: Nuraply 3PC must be overlaid with asphalt, concrete, or tiles — it is not designed for use as an exposed membrane.

  • Slip layer required under concrete toppings: A separation or slip layer must be incorporated when installed beneath concrete slabs to prevent shear stress or membrane displacement.

  • 100% adhesion to the substrate must be achieved: Installation may only be undertaken by approved Nuralite applicators.

  • Under the Codemark certificate, the membrane may be installed on substrates with no fall. However, back falls are not acceptable and must be corrected.

FAQs

What is Nuraply 3PC and when should it be used?
Nuraply 3PC is a robust, 5mm bitumen membrane designed for high-load applications—particularly under trafficable surfaces such as car parks, podium decks, and roof slabs. It should be used in scenarios where a heavy-duty waterproofing barrier is required to endure significant mechanical stress and exposure to vehicular loads.
Can Nuraply 3PC be applied under asphalt or concrete toppings?
Yes, Nuraply 3PC is engineered to be installed directly beneath asphalt or concrete toppings. Its surface is compatible with hot mix overlays and is formulated to withstand the high temperatures and pressures associated with these applications, ensuring lasting waterproofing even under demanding conditions.
How thick is the Nuraply 3PC membrane system?
The Nuraply 3PC membrane system is 5mm thick, providing enhanced physical durability and long-term resistance against impact, abrasion, and thermal cycling. This added thickness offers a significant performance advantage in heavy-duty applications where durability is critical.
